SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Westcore Properties announces that Gary R. Gagné has joined the company as vice president and chief accounting officer. He brings more than 16 years of real estate, accounting and finance experience in the areas of private equity, asset management, commercial property and land development, financial reporting, and information systems.
According to Don Ankeny, president and chief executive officer with Westcore Properties, Gagné's financial and real estate acumen will be of tremendous value to the company as it continues to seek value-add real estate opportunities in the U.S.
Prior to joining Westcore Properties, Gagné served as the vice president of accounting and corporate controller for Newland Real Estate Group (Newland), the nation’s largest privately-owned land developer. While at Newland, Gagné managed accounting and reporting for several private equity funds exceeding $1 billion in member capital. Before his time at Newland, Gagné was corporate controller for LNR Property’s commercial property division in Newport Beach, Calif. Gagné’s experience also includes serving as audit manager for Ernst & Young LLP in its real estate audit and assurance practice.
Gagné is a certified public accountant in California and Massachusetts. He is an active member in professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Gagné holds a Bachelor of Science in business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Boston College.
